Rumour sez: its 10 cents!

Article from nstonline.

KUALA LUMPUR, WED
THE price of fuel is expected to be cut by at least 10 sen per litre, a source told the NST today. The announcement was expected to be made this afternoon.
On Aug 22, the pump price of petrol was reduced to RM2.55 from RM2.70 per litre (RON 97) and diesel to RM2.50 from RM2.58 per litre. The government had announced on Aug 1 that pump prices would be adjusted according to world crude oil prices on the first day of each month, starting Sept 1.A minimum subsidy of 30 sen a litre and a ceiling price of RM2.70 a litre for petrol had been fixed until at least the end of the year. The government had cut crippling fuel subsidies on June 5, resulting in the petrol price rising from RM1.92 to RM2.70 per litre.
Meanwhile, Benama quoted economist Datuk Zainal Aznam Yusoff as saying that the government may lower the price of fuel by as much as 15 sen.Zainal, who is also a member of the Economic Council of Malaysia, said the government was likely to announce the new price after the Cabinet meeting today.

Pray hard.... life is already very diff with the soaring price... we hope this is true...

Cashier counter for 'Less than 10 item'

Wanted to feel young and have try some healthy diets, decided to cook yesterday. Went to Carrefour Sutera. Bot few stuffs for dinner.

1. Brocolli
2. Onion
3. Barley
4. Chilled Tofu
5. Papaya

Didnt even grab a basket coz i tot i can have a quickie - Go in, grab the stuffs, pay and fuck off.

I was shocked when i saw the queue at 'less than 10 item' counters. No, the queue was short. There was only about 4 person in front of me, but they almost bought the whole carrefour !

ALL of them are fully equiped with trolleys and none of the trolleys are half full. They are fucking OVERFLOWED.

Don't they fucking understand 'LESS THAN 10 ITEMS'?? Its not the 'LESS THEN 10 TROLLEYS' queue! Why can't people look at the signs and just LET PEOPLE WHO FOLLOW RULES - like me - enjoy the benefit that the company has provided???

All these people should be ISA'd. They should be left roaming on the streets and shopping places as they are a threat to national security. I might lose my mind one day and taekwondo these assholes. Together with the cashiers who's face looks like they just lost 100k in stock market. Anyone died??

Oh, btw, the queue control at Carrefour Sutera should also be ISA'd too. They are too busy arranging the items on the shelf and not doing what they are supposed to do. Fuck em.

I end up having KFC. Screw the diet.

Won't be cooking anytime soon.

New Implementations!

With the introduction of a more controled traffic management for traffic going towards Woodlands Checkpoint, I have anticipated more congestion along BKE until the viaduct. In other words, it should look like many ants trying to squeeze their way through woodlands checkpoint, satelite viewed.

When i join the 'ants' last week, it will surprisingly fast. The queue moved like a bunch of lubricated jelly on a plate and my foot is in fact off the brake pedal most of the time. It took me only 30 minutes to clear the causeway. (30 minutes is already considered fast. given the previous situation)

This brings me to my point when SG govn introduces something at checkpoint or in any other area, the most important task to handle is the implementation.

read - eem plee man tay sion....

Along the 'lubricated' and fast moving path, I counted the number of TPs and Cisco man there that directed the traffic. There was 12 of them. All serious looking and with a ready-to-kill attitude towards queue cutters. See, this is the only time im glad to see TPs. Normally i will immediately check my speed meter when i see TPs from my rear view mirror.

These people, in rain or shine, without fail, uses their most powerful hand in the world, to stop and release traffic in the most efficient manner. This is, the SG way.

Lets now look at MY way.... (not mine but Msia)

When they implement something, my reaction is always the same- Oh Shit.

Lets see.

White card - Up till the day before the re-introduction of the white card, custom officials in johor have no clue where the f**k are the stocks of the white cards. When I asked them for white card, they say the stocks are not in yet.

Petrol - Let us pump? We can't pump? Different price at the pump? Only allowed 50KM outside the pump? I am still able to pump.... Wonder how many local who owns foreign registered vehicle actually bot local registered car for 'petrol transfer' (if 50km rule is implemented) are cursing and swearing at the govn now...

Jam at JB custom - The traffic controllers are like M & Ms. You see them one day, you don't another day. I guess they are outsourced as they don't look like the local TP to me and i have no idea what traffic control training they have gone through because i don't f**king see them managing the traffic in any way.

Abuse? What abuse?

Singapore introduces ‘unfriendly’ restrictions
By NELSON BENJAMIN

JOHOR BARU: Singapore has imposed a new ruling which has been described as “unfriendly” — including introducing restrictions against Malaysian VIPs and High Commission staff vehicles entering or leaving the island republic.
Members of the Johor royalty, Malaysian VIPs and High Commission staff were previously allowed “easy access” where they could use the bus lane at the causeway or the Second Link to avoid getting caught in the massive traffic snarl. They can no longer enjoy the privilege.
Since the ruling was enforced recently, at least two “incidents” have occurred including a vehicle carrying the Tengku Bendahara of Johor being stopped and having clearance problems.
The latest case occurred last week when Malaysian High Commissioner Datuk N. Parameswaran, who was in his official car bearing the Malaysian flag was also stopped and told to turn back at the Second Link.
It is learnt that Singapore had enforced the new ruling over the last two weeks as part of its effort to tighten security following the escape of terrorist Mas Selamat Kastari on Feb 27.
Malaysians at the causeway are already forced to endure long jams, which can stretch to several hours since the escape.
They have to have their thumbprints taken and cars searched at the Causeway and Second Link.
Wisma Putra sources said the recent ruling would “ruffle some feathers” as Malaysia has been “very accommodating” to requests made by Singapore in the past.
It is learnt that Singapore issued the guideline via the Malaysian High Commission two weeks ago.
The easy access is only provided to “certain people” including the Johor Sultan, Tengku Mohkota and Malaysian ministers.
It is learnt that Singapore also sent a letter to the Johor palace informing them about the new clearance procedures.
Parameswaran confirmed there were two “unpleasant cases” involving the Tengku Bendahara of Johor and also himself.
“I was on my way to Nusajaya in my official car bearing the Malaysian flag to attend an official buka puasa event in Nusajaya at 6pm on Saturday when I was pulled over for 20 minutes.
Parameswaran said Singaporean officials then told him to turn back and wait in queue.
“This is the first time in five and a half years that such a thing has happened,” he said, adding that describing the incident as embarrassing and “disrespectful” of the Malaysian flag.
Parameswaran said the High Commission vehicles were given clearance to use the bus lanes to avoid the traffic congestion as they had to commute to Johor regularly for official purposes.
Asked if there were any other reason for the sudden move, he said that Singapore had informed him that there were supposedly some abuses in the past.
“I have dealt with those who abused the system. So why impose something when discussions have not been not finalised?” he asked.

....

"See, the problem is that God gives men a brain and a penis, and only enough blood to run one at a time." Robin Williams

The blood didn't reach the brain.

For goodness sake. You are saying Singapore is the cause of the jam. Did you know that , the worst side of the jam happens in Malaysia? As a frequent traveller, let me show you something that you may not have known.Every morning, cars squeeze, jam brakes, and cut queue over at Msia side. Why? Because there is no , I repeat, NO traffic controller whatsoever there.

This is cause way. I've labeled the side for Msia and Singapore.

Yes, Malaysian are caught in the jam. But the jam is caused by Msian side.. not Singapore side. Yes, Singapore has introduced some measure to improve the security at both checkpoint which lenghtens the time taken to clear the checkpoint, but, what has been done by Msian side?

The Datuk complain about the jam that normal msian has to go through. What makes him so special? Just because he works for the government? If Singapore's action is disrespectful to Malaysian flag, I would say he is disrespectful to me, the normal Malaysian.

If he's so free, why not he attend to Malaysian in Singapore who's complaining about the jam in Tuas checkpoint? where they are stuck for 2 hours every Monday morning because there is no traffic control over at Msian side of the traffic? Picture attached before for the area mentioned.

People only queue in Singapore. In Msia, then jump Queue. Shit..

Ah, Malaysian Taxi Driver

I was back to KL at my parent's place.

It was a boring Sunday. There is nothing that arouses me on the TV and Astro. No parliament debate as MPs are busy studying on some plant technology and I've had enough of Discovery Channel. So I decided to go to Sunway Pyramid. As parking is always full, I decided to take a cab there.

I walked outside my apartment and flag down a cab.

Me: Uncle, Sunway Pyramid ada pergi?

Taxi Driver: *nod*. RM 20.00

Me: OK. Tak apa. TANK-KIU

So I waited for another cab as the first one didn't want to activate the meter. Comes the second cab and again I asked if he wants to fetch me to Sunway Pyramid. Same conversation as above. Its all repetitive for the next five or six cab. I lost count. All of them refuse to charge by the meter. I'm pissed. Finally, the there's this one cab that I manage to flag down who said OK to meter. The uncle looked like a Saint to me at that point of time.

Me: Uncle, can on the air cond louder? Very hot.. I stand for almost 30 minutes before I can get a cab.

Taxi Driver: OK.

Me: You are the only nice taxi driver who charges by the meter le. What's wrong with the others? Why never charge according to meter one?

TD: Ah.. you all don't know one la. you all think taxi drivers like to charge expensive. Did you know that by running the meter, taxi drivers won't earn enough to even pay for the taxi rent?

Me: You don't own the cab?

TD: Of course not. You need to have license to own the cab.

Me: Then get one:

TD: hahaha… I have no connection. you need to get license from JPJ. There is a limit to the number of license holders. We only rent from the company who got all the license.

Me: huh?? Then how much you all rent the cab?

TD: Per day, its RM 50. See if you are lucky or not, you can get cheaper. Some of them rented the taxi at RM 30, RM 80.. depends on your luck.

Me: That will be RM 1,500 PER MONTH!!!! Much more than the cost of buying the vehicle and paying the monthly installment!

TD: its like that… that's why I say you all don't know one…. Later you see the meter and you MIGHT understand why.

at this point in time, im very confused. The conversation continues but we did not talk about taxi anymore. I reach Sunway in about 25 minutes because the traffic was a little congested.

TD: RM 8.40. RM 8 can already. uncle got no change.

Me: Huh? You sure?

TD: yeah.. the meter don't quite move when we are stuck in jam. Every car meter different. Mine don't move that fast..

I felt guilty.

I felt guilty because I "forced" the uncle to charge by meter. Or is it we, who forced?

I felt guilty because I am one of the people, who can afford to pay more, but didn't want to pay more just because I felt like I'm being cheated by the taxi driver. I felt guilty because I have cheated the taxi driver. Or is it the society and our caring government has? I know for sure the company that rented the cab to these taxi drivers don't care for sure.

Uncle Taxi has a son and a daughter who just started working. Uncle taxi also work 2 jobs just to make sure his kids went to proper school and not become a taxi driver like him.

I paid the taxi uncle RM 20. Converted into SGD, it worked out to be SGD 8.30. I can still afford.

I only help to pay 1.34% of uncle taxi’s monthly cab rent. I leave the rest to the people... DO WE REALLY CARE FOR THE SOCIETY? OR WE CARE FOR OURSELF.

Pump prices to stay until end of the month

Pump prices to stay until end of the month

PUTRAJAYA: The present petrol prices will remain until the end of the month as the Government is sticking to its decision to review pump rates on a monthly basis.
Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Shahrir Samad said the twice-monthly review talked about earlier was only a suggestion and the Cabinet had not made any decision on the matter.
“Since the last review was only 12 days ago, the next petrol price review will only be done at the end of the month. However, the Government will continue to monitor the global fuel price closely,” he told The Star yesterday.
On Aug 22, the Government lowered the price of petrol to RM2.55 a litre and diesel to RM2.50 a litre. Shahrir insisted the decision was to relieve the burden on the rakyat and had nothing to do with the Permatang Pauh by-election on Aug 26.
The Government had decided to review fuel prices earlier than Sept 1 due to the rising inflation rate.
On June 4, prices were raised to RM2.70 a litre and RM2.58 a litre for petrol and diesel respectively.
He said consumers, particularly those owning motorcycles and smaller capacity cars, should be wise in choosing the type of petrol for their vehicles, now that the difference in prices for RON97 and RON92 was more substantial. RON97 is priced at RM2.55 a litre while RON92 is 15 sen cheaper a litre.

Not again......

Everywhere I go, I will tend to find problem with the shop or staff of a particular company making me pissed mad. Latest one is with one of the famous fishball noodle shop in JB. Ah Koong Fishball Noodle.

I recently patronized Ah Koong at JB with my wife. My wife was eating her noodle half way which she suddenly screams in pain. There is a stone (or whatever you call it) in her noodle!

She took a bite of the stone and the pain made her spit out her noodle immediately. The pain was quite bad and subsequently, she noticed that a very small crack of her tooth came off.

Angrily, I called the waiter.

Me: Hey, there is stone in your noodle. How can this be!
Waiter: uh.. uh.. wait…
(she took a look at the stone which I have by now retrieved from the noodle my wife was munching)

Waiter: let me check with my boss (she goes ask girl at counter)
Me: ok

(after approx 5 minutes)

Waiter: Ok sir, we will not charge you the bowl of noodle.
Me: What?? Its not about the noodle that we wanted.
(By now, if you notice, NO APOLOGIES offered. What we wanted was just a simple apology)

Waiter: Then what do you want?
Me: (pissed already) This stone makes the tooth crack. Here's the evidence! (showing her the crack that came off)

Waiter: Wait… I go ask my boss (go ask the counter girl again)

(After 5 minutes, the counter girl came over)

Counter girl: Where is the stone and teeth? (In a not-so-friendly way)
Me: (points at the stone and tooth crack on the table with the chopstick (not too friendly too)

Counter girl: What exactly do you want?
Me: Definitely not a bowl of noodle. I can pay for what I've eaten. Now, I want you to pay for our damages. We are going to visit a dentist and we will bill you for whatever the stone has caused.

Counter girl: How sure are you that this is a stone ? This may be your own tooth that has cracked!

(at this point in time, I am already very very angry)
Me: Hey, take a good look at the stone and tooth. Are they the same color? Are they the same ?? The stone is much rounder and has scratches on it where as the tooth crack is sharp due to it cracking. Can't you see? I want you to compensate me on whatever the dentist is going to charge me!

Counter girl: I have to check with my boss.
Me: You are not the boss?
Counter girl: No, my boss just left from behind.
Me: ……….

(she then proceed back to the counter to make phone call)

2 waiters came by:
Waiter 2: Can I take a look at the stuffs.
me: ARE YOU THE BOSS?
Waiter 3: NO. Just want to see. This is your tooth la. They are the same.
Me: can't you tell the difference? There's scratches on the stone and the tooth crack is different!
Waiter 2: (asking waiter 3) You can see? Where is your spectacle?

(I guess the waiter 2 and 3 has lao hua yan. sigh.)

(I waited for another 10 to 15 minutes before another waiter came over)

Waiter 4: Can I take a look at the stuffs?
Me; Are you the boss? Why are you all so kay poh?
Waiter 4: I'm not the boss, but im the in charge here.
Me: Oh, ok. Look at this.
Waiter 4: hmm. let me call my boss.
Me: Why so many of you and what's going on now? what am I waiting for? I'll just go to the dentist and send you the bill. Easy!
Waiter 4: We have to inform boss of your request and then only we can tell you.
Me: its more than 30 minutes already. Can you guys speed up??

(I'm getting more and more and more impatient)

Waiter #5 came over to collect the 'evidence'

Waiter 5: Hi, can I collect the stone and tooth please?
Me: No, im taking this with me. If your boss wants to see this, ask him or her to call me.
Waiter 5: Ok. let me get you a bag to store it.
Me: sure.
(She comes back with a small bag to store the stone and tooth)
Waiter 5: I'm so sorry about this. You know, some times, the production of noodle or even fishballs may accidentally contain stone, just like rice and stuffs. I sincerely apologize for this.
Me: you know, this is the only word that I need. after so many people coming here and asking me questions, you are the first to apologize.
Waiter 5: oh? really? They did not?
Me: Yeah. Can you get me the bill? I will leave you my contact, and if your boss have any decision or need to look at the stone and tooth, let me know.
Waiter 5: OK sure. Sorry again for this.

I pay for the bill and left.

In actual fact, I have contacts who are a very good friend of the owner of this shop. I actually called the owner of the shop (a prominent businessman) and gave my feedback to him right after the incident. Guess what, the businessman actually apologized to me and assured me that the matter will be addressed immediately.

Even the owner apologizes to me. What more the waiter that comes with a ready-to-kill attitude. Guess that's why they are called business man. They will do what ever it takes to protect their business. Even apologizing to a nobody like me!

If you have problems with the same shop like me. Don't worry. Take down the names of the waiter and post them here. I'll call the owner again.
