Beauty centre ordered to return RM150
JOHOR BARU: A 35-year-old man has filed a case at the tribunal court here demanding a refund from a beauty centre.
Mohd Nazri Abd Wahab had signed up for a RM800 slimming and sauna package at the centre on February 23.
He paid a RM150 deposit and was told he could pay the remaining amount in five instalments of RM130 each.
He told the court that, when he went to use the sauna on March 1, the centre asked him to pay another RM150.
“One of the representatives then told me to go to the sauna four to five times to eliminate toxins before starting the sliming sessions.
“Every time I went to use the sauna, I had to pay an instalment.
“I have to finish paying to have the slimming treatment,” he said.
Mohd Nazri felt cheated by the centre.
Consumer Claims Tribunal president Rungit Singh ruled that the beauty centre should return RM150 to Mohd Nazri.
In another case, the same court ordered a scratch-and-win company to return RM5,600 to Too Yeok Seng for the purchase of seven items.
Rungit Singh instructed Too to return the items when the money was refunded.
The items included a sewing machine, jade bed, sauna machine and cooker of unknown brands.
Too felt he had been overcharged when he filed the case with the tribunal court here.
