Recession and Depression
Honored to have been through a recession comparable to the 1927 great depression. Sad that this has to happen.
I reckon the problems arising from this recession that is closer and more what really concern us about is our job security and our own safety.
Job security aside as this is really something out of our control.
Safety of our surrounding may be more of what we can have a say in.
With all the job cuts across the globe, many of our workers in foreign land may be forced to retreat to our shore, thus skewing our population higher. This, will translate to higher supply of manpower and the already tense workforce demand will be put to more rigorous test.
Guess we have to admit that the number of jobs out there is less than sufficient for those being retrenched overseas.
When people has no more means to put food on the table legally, i can understand the term desperate times calls for desperate measures.
Flextronic, Chartered and many other power houses in manufacturing line has been brought to their knees due to slower demand in their goods and service. Companies will not be able to maintain the same number of workforce while allowing productivity to slump and still incur the cost of payroll will choose to either cut a portion of the pay, or entirely by retrenching the excess headcounts.
Many Johorians has been cut in that respect.
This is not a good sign. When all alternatives has been depleted, easy money is the only way out. Crime will go up.
Places that many has deem safe, such as Singapore with their respectable effort to maintain the low crime rate, has not been safe so far. It has been reported that many crimes are on the rise there.
At home, it can only be worst.
Credit has to be given to our police for increasing the number of patrols around my area, but this is definitely not enough.
I hope each day that this can pass and we all can go back to the time when every body has food to eat, jobs to attend to and crime rates managable.
Good Luck.

New CIQ complex. Nice to see, Nice to use, Once stucked, Considered Screwed.
Its not as efficient as what I thought it should be.
Having used it for the past 2 weeks. Here's my comment.
1. Speed Humps
My car won't last 10 years with those speed humps. It should be added into Guiness book of records for the strongest and highest humps.
2. Number of counters available
Damn a lot.
3. Number of counters open
Damn little.
4. Speed of the counters
Damn
5. Touch and go
Brilliant
6. Annoucement of the touch and go
phui
7. Road leading to CIQ
3 lanes to be shared by Motorcycles, Buses and Cars. Its like stuffing 1-2-3 kid, yokozuna and triple H into 3 road. Yokozuna wins. the rest got stuck
8. Road after CIQ towards Woodlands.
Dizzy, giddy, headache.... and whatever you can describe the feeling after a roller coaster ride.
9. Distance CIQ - Woodlands
I pity those who decided to walk from CIQ to Woodlands checkpoint. Think they will change to brand new walking shoes. Majestic 2.4km of it.
10. Overall
I prefer the old custom for its efficiency. At least i've never got stuck for 2 hours.
Oh boy, what do you expect for petrol at RM 1.80?

i'm telling you.... tailor at sunway, kl that made my day!
This shop that I am about to introduce, is not some fancy or lavish tailor shop that you find in Bangkok. This is purely just a tailor auntie manning a shop. No seats for you, not even air cond.
BUT .. there is always a big but here.
The quality of the hand made tailor, magnificant.
I've gotten my pants fixed, my shirt tightened, and she can even do a curtain. I paid only RM 300 for all of those and its all done in just 1 week.
Surprised? Don't be. A quick check with the auntie reveals that everything that was done, was done by hand. Minimal machine involvement. im talking about lean mean hand made tailor 1950s style!
I love my pants now as it doesn;t look fluffy anymore.
Check it out here.

How to survive in such bad times...
1- Driving in Singapore, its so costly. ERP, Carpark is exp, Rental is high. I'm moving back to Msia.
2- Rental in JB is RM 1500 for the WHOLE apartment with condo facility. HDB SGD 1300 (3 RM flat)
3- And best part, its fully furnish. Average utility bill for 2 aircond running non-stop every night is approx RM 200. In SG, its about SGD 120 if you know how to save.
4- Char kuay tiao - RM 4.50, SGD 3.50
5- Buying yourself a 2nd hand 3 series - RM 120k, SGD 90k
6- Golfing - RM 10.00 for 100 balls. SGD 6.00 for 100 balls. Green fee - RM 80, SGD 67
7- Bak Kut Teh - RM 30 for 2 person, SGD 25 for 2 person.
8- Getting robbed for showing off - 10x possibility in Msia/ 3 x possibility in SG (given recent cases)
9- Cable vision fee - RM 120/SGD 60-80
10- Parking at apartment - RM free/SGD 90 monthly
You can stay there, but never work there....
See you @ causeway!
Petrol down again..
Muahahaha!!
PETALING JAYA: Petrol and diesel prices have been slashed by a further 15 sen per litre from today.
The new pump price for RON97 is now RM2 per litre while RON92 will be sold at RM1.90 per litre. Diesel will be at RM1.90 per litre.
The latest price cut, the fifth since August, was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak yesterday.
Najib said the reduction was made in line with falling global petroleum prices.
Yesterday’s price of a barrel of crude was about US$56.
Najib, who is also Finance Minister, urged traders to lower prices of goods and services to fully benefit the people following the fuel reduction.
“The people should also continue to use petrol and diesel sparingly despite the lower price in line with the Government’s efficient energy consumption plan,” he said.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said the Government had kept its promise to reduce petrol prices.
Abdullah, who is on a working visit to Uzbekistan, said consumers should boycott outlets which refused to lower prices.
“I have been told that there is a non-governmental organisation spearheading this move. They have my support,” he told Malaysian reporters in the Uzbek capital Tashkent.
He said the people would be angry with the Government because prices of goods were still high.
“The Government had kept its promise but traders are not doing their part,” he said.
Abdullah said more NGOs should come forward and advise consumers where to shop.
“You can work together and get consumers to shun traders who pofiteer. We have to do this or else prices would not come down,” he added.
Meanwhile, petroleum dealers said they would feel the pinch with the latest fuel price reduction.
Malaysian Petroleum Dealers’ Association acting president Abdul Wahid Bidin said: “We hope this reduction will be the last. Otherwise, we won’t be able to plan ahead and doing business will be very difficult.”

If I am prime minister
1) Abolish ISA - well, this is just to gain some popularity. :)
2) Improve the bloody traffic condition @ causeway and tuas. Why? If its easy for Singaporeans to come shopping, economy of Johor can be improved. Ppl will have jobs, crime will go down.
3) Rather than focussing on building new condos, apartments, I will re-vive all the stalled projects. If I cannot ensure stalled projects can be revived, how can I ensure new projects won't stall?
4) Let market determine oil price. Rebate will come in cash to Malaysian. This can ensure that only Malaysian enjoy the benefit of 'subsidy', 'rebate', or whatever you want to call it. I dont care.
5) Make sure all my civil servants can speak english. How to be 2nd home to foreigners if these foreigners cant even get through the immigration processing department? - you will be surprised by the number of civil servants that can't speak english.
6) I will legalize vice activities but slap high tax on the industry and regulate them by centralizing it at Bukit Aman. Cant beat them? Join them and put them next to your police force.
7) Taxi licenses are to be issued only to individual. Company that wants to be issued with Taxi License will need to recruit a taxi driver, and pay them a fixed salary for each of the taxi issued under company name.
8) Only hot babes can work under me. or underneath me.
9) Kill off corruption - install CCTV/Speed cam on every available trees/traffic lights/lamp posts. Police summon cannot be issued on the road, only arrest can be made. Summon will automatically be issued once it captures the crime in action. Try bribing the camera.
10) Improve relationship with singapore. Yes, you hear me right. With almost a quarter of your Johor population on their payroll and businesses need them to spend here, do you still need me to explain further?
11) Offer citizenship to David Beckham. - No more need to advertise Malaysia as a 2nd home. Many will come to us.
12) Introduce 500 layers of QC on Proton/Perodua's power winder parts. Mine broke down last week.
There you have it.. if im a prime minister... i will be a damn good one...
